The dive center at Alor Tanapi has been designed with plenty of space to store your dive equipment and our purpose-built fiberglass boats comfortably accommodate divers and dive guides.

Dive Center at Alor Tanapi Dive Resort
Our dive center is purpose-built for efficient and comfortable diving in Alor, Indonesia. Designed for small group operations, it provides all the facilities needed for daily dive preparation, equipment care, and post-dive relaxation.
Dive Center Facilities
The dive center is spread across two levels to separate wet operations from relaxation areas.
Ground Floor – Dive Operations & Equipment Area
The lower level is dedicated to dive logistics and equipment handling. Facilities include:
- Outdoor freshwater showers for rinsing after dives
- Dedicated rinse tanks for BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, masks, fins, and cameras
- Equipment drying area
- Secure wet room for storing personal dive gear
- Changing room and washroom facilities
- Dedicated camera room for cleaning, drying, disassembling, and charging camera equipment
Our crew handles all equipment rinsing and setup support to ensure your gear is properly maintained throughout your stay.
Upper Floor – Relaxation Deck
The upper level is a relaxed lounge space designed for surface intervals and post-dive downtime.
Guests can enjoy:
- Sun loungers and umbrellas
- Ocean breeze and views of the surrounding environment
It is a space to rest or unwind after returning from the sea.
Rental Equipment
A full range of dive equipment is available for rental during your stay.
While rental gear is available on-site, we strongly recommend bringing your own equipment where possible, especially masks and wetsuits, to ensure optimal fit and comfort during multiple days of diving.
If you require rental equipment, please inform us at the time of booking so we can prepare appropriate sizes in advance.
Our Dive Boats
Our two custom-built fiberglass dive boats are designed specifically for diving operations in Alor.
Each boat features:
- Spacious layout for diver comfort and gear storage
- Dedicated camera and equipment space
- Capacity for up to 8 divers and 2 dive guides
- Twin 150HP Yamaha 4-stroke engines for reliability and efficiency
The boats allow access to most dive sites in the region within approximately 20–30 minutes. Each trip is planned with consideration for tides, current strength, and guest experience level to ensure safe and enjoyable diving conditions.
Dive Schedule at Alor Tanapi
As a small and intimate dive resort in Alor, we operate a flexible and guest-focused dive schedule.
In general, diving includes:
- Two morning boat dives departing after breakfast with surface interval on the boat, towels, snacks, coffee, tea and water are provided
- Return to the resort for lunch
- Optional afternoon dive or night dive depending on conditions and group interest
All dives are guided boat dives with a maximum ratio of 1 dive guide or instructor to 4 guests.
We aim to balance reef diving and muck diving according to guest preferences, while always adapting to conditions and safety requirements. Dive planning is adjusted daily based on currents, visibility, and marine activity to ensure the best possible experience.
Diving Conditions & Safety
The Pantar Strait is known for variable and sometimes strong currents. For this reason, dive sites and timing are carefully selected each day based on conditions.
We prioritize safety and comfort on every dive, choosing locations that match the group’s experience level and ensuring appropriate planning for tides and current movement.
On average, we offer 2–3 boat dives per day. Requests for up to 4 dives per day may be arranged in advance depending on conditions and logistics.
